The RWTHmoodle team at the IT Center und the CLS invites all lecturers at RWTH Aachen University to test the two course templates “Course room organization and structure” and “Multimedia and interactive learning” in their RWTHmoodle course rooms in winter semester 2025/26.
The course templates provide a course environment with predefined structure and content elements such as learning objectives, schedules, FAQ sections, contact information, and progress indicators—each with sample content for individual customization.
The course templates support you in designing your course rooms in a clear and didactically sensible way. They make it easier for new users to get started with digitally supported teaching with RWTHmoodle and for experienced lecturers to further develop and standardize their course rooms.
In addition, course rooms with a more uniform design enable students to find their way around more quickly. Learning objectives, requirements and the course schedule are just as transparent and easy to find as the required content, tasks to be completed and their completion status.
The course templates were successfully piloted in summer semester 2025. They were subsequently improved based on feedback from lecturers during the evaluation and expanded with elements to track one’s own learning progress.
Please note that the course templates are currently only available in German. However, they will be offered bilingually in the future.
